What is your favorite class to teach?
My favorite class to teach is Barre because it’s functional fitness- a blend of balance, posture and strength which help with daily living activities.
What made you want to become a fitness instructor?
I have been active all my life in some way. However, a turning point for me came when I had my second child and became a stay-at-home mom. I was looking for things to fill our schedule and get some me-time for a small bit in the day. I decided to join a gym. I started taking classes and I loved the way I felt after and challenging myself. My favorite class was TurboKick (cardio kickboxing) and I started teaching when all my favorite instructors were moving away and there was no one to teach the class.
What’s the most rewarding part of being an instructor?
What I love the most is seeing people of all fitness levels, all shapes and sizes, young or mature, working to be their best. For everyone their best is different.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family. I also love finding a bargain and using coupons.
What habits do you keep that help you maintain a healthy lifestyle?
My favorite lifestyle habit is if I have a day where I haven’t eaten healthy or had enough water to drink… Everyday is a new day… Get back up and keep going.
What is your favorite “cheat” food?
My downfall is anything described as ooey or gooey!!! Cinnamon rolls, brownies, you name it.
