Meet Joe! He teaches cycling and yoga classes here at IF. We asked Joe a series of questions to get to know him a little better. Here’s what he had to say:
What classes do you teach?
Joe: Right now I only teach yoga and cycling.
Favorite class to teach? Why?
Joe: I love them both for their individual attributes but actually I love them both because of the way that I feel on the inside after either. I feel balanced and refreshed.
What made you want to become an instructor?
Joe: I started taking spin class in grad school because it seemed like the most drastic thing I could do to switch from being a night owl to a morning person. I didn’t realize that it would be so transformative. I was instantly hooked and I guess it was the natural progression that I would eventually want to share that magical transformation with others.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Joe: In my spare time I love to garden and just be out in nature. Hiking, cycling, reading. Right now I’m reading a lot about vegan cooking and natural remedies.
Favorite cheat food?
Joe: I know its terrible but I love a good red chili popover. I allow myself no more than one a year.
Any advice for others in their fitness journey?
Joe: My advice is to find something physical that you love doing and just keep doing it. It doesn’t matter what it is, what matters is the feeling it gives you. Also, don’t be discouraged by setbacks in the process. Life is a journey so use any setbacks as a time to reflect on whats next on your horizon.
